You’ll walk away from each CCT class with tools and practices you can immediately put to work. CCT will help you:

  • Improve awareness
  • Increase connection to others
  • Decrease the distress you may feel in difficult situations

CCT is a two-hour weekly class that includes:

  • Large and small group discussions to share learning experiences
  • Guided meditation to improve awareness
  • Listening and communication exercises to build compassionate interactions

You’ll also have daily homework of one guided meditation per day and informal practices to try as you go about your day.

Dan D'Agostino

I have been practicing meditation in Buddhist traditions for almost twenty years and it is through this that I first encountered the traditional Tibetan practices for generating and enhancing compassion. These practices have had a profound effect on my own life and outlook and as a CCT teacher I see in them great potential to benefit individuals and the larger society. I have taught CCT to both university students and older adults and hope to present it to diverse audiences from different fields of life. Living in the world’s most cosmopolitan city, I see CCT as offering residents of Toronto a way to enhance tolerance, resilience and a greater sense of connection with all those we share our lives with, from family members to the wider community.

Tsering Tsomo

I have been a Vipassana, placement and analytical meditation practitioner for over 10 years. I was certified to teach CCT in 2019 and currently teach CCT in class and online to both university students and older adults in the Greater Toronto Area. I have a certificate from University of Toronto in the Foundations of Applied Mindfulness Meditation and a Level 2 for the 16 Guidelines, from the Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom. Currently I am completing the UofT Certificate of Mindfulness Informed End of Life Care. I hope to be able to offer CCT in the diaspora Tibetan community and the not for profit and charitable sector, to enhance resiliency, and greater connection among community members.
